Examples of a Presentation in Different Formats
Presentation on Assistive Technology by Laura Nichols
Columbus State University ETTC
assistive.ppt - Some effects in the newer versions of PP cannot be opened in older versions. If you are moving your file to a computer with an older version of PP, save it in the older format. Pack and Go - No sample file is included for this process, which makes it easier to save a large file on multiple disks. You can also embed special sound clips, links, and fonts; otherwise, you could forget to save these to your disk, and then your presentation would not display properly. The last two files in the illustration above are created by the Pack and Go Wizard and must be loaded on the second computer. To unpack the file, doubleclick the setup file. If you are showing the file on a computer that does not have PowerPoint installed, you can include the PP viewer in your file. .pps - Note that the menubar and the toolbars are not available in a PP show. .htm - Open this file in Internet Explorer and then in Netscape Communicator 4.x; note that the commands are handled in different ways. In addition to the .htm file, a folder is created to handle the images, backgrounds, and special effects. The folder for the example presentation has 200 files - approximately 2.6 MB.
