Just to confuse the definitions, some of these companies use information from search engines and submissions. And some companies combine hits from other companies. Most search engines and directories make it easy for you to customize a browser start-up page to fit your particular surfing interests--and to add their brand-name tool bar to add to your browser. If you want your school's website to show up when somebody does a search, you should register with several of these companies. On their homepages, look for a link worded like "Add URL."
